JUSTIN LIEBERMAN
b. 1977, Gainesville, FL, USA
Lieberman’s work is not identified with one particular medium. The artist usually conceives of an idea and then seeks the ideal medium to express it. The result is that his work is characterised by a combination of media and techniques: collage, sculpture, painting, installations and digital media.
Lieberman’s work is often humorous. There are times when it reflects a certain conservativism and intense formalist aspect, without shocking or upsetting the viewer. The themes of his more recent exhibitions vary: from the historical presentation of personalities in advertising to contemplation on the attitudes of cult illustration to his personal history related to the crisis.
Justin Lieberman holds a MFA from Yale University, New Haven, CT, 2004.
